About
Joshua Preston is a photographer and photojournalist from London, based in Melbourne.
His work runs from portraiture and live news to street and fashion, but the thread through all of it is protest. Years of marches, occupations and policing in London, and the people who keep turning up to them.
In 2019 he flew to Hong Kong at the height of the protests against Beijing's tightening grip and worked the front lines for the weeks that followed. He was tear gassed, hit with rubber rounds, and came home with the pictures.
Accredited by the International Federation of Journalists and a press pass holder, he covers breaking news, current affairs and public life, and is a regular presence at London Fashion Week. Over twenty years his clients have ranged from global newspapers and fashion brands to private weddings and commercial campaigns.
He is available for editorial assignment in Australia and the United Kingdom.
